The House and Senate are making their way through several spending packages to avoid an upcoming Jan. 30 deadline to keep the government open.

The American Farm Bureau Federation Annual Convention was held in Anaheim Jan. 9-14. California Farm Bureau submitted four policies, all of which passed, including three water policy updates and a table wine policy closing the duty drawback loophole--now enabling federal advocacy on the issue.

Earlier this month, California Farm Bureau submitted comments to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on its updated "waters of the United States" definition. California Farm Bureau hopes the proposal will reduce regulatory uncertainty and provide long-term clarity following years of shifting guidance and court decisions.
