The California Air Resources Board approved rules to implement Senate Bill 253 and Senate Bill 261, establishing fees and setting Aug. 10 as the first reporting deadline for corporate climate disclosures. First-year reporting under SB 253 will include only Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
The California Public Utilities Commission approved a settlement allowing PacifiCorp to distribute $10.1 million in California climate credits to eligible residential and small business customers in 2026. Customers will receive a bill credit of $111.83 in April and October.

The California office of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency will host a March 10 webinar on the Stage 2 Supplemental Disaster Relief Program, which will distribute nearly $1 billion in disaster assistance to specialty crop producers and other farmers.
The March 13 deadline to report acreage for the Assistance for Specialty Crop Farmers Program is approaching. Growers must report 2025 acres to their local U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency office to be eligible for a share of $1 billion in economic assistance.

The House Agriculture Committee passed the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 ("skinny" Farm Bill) in a bipartisan 34-17 vote. The bill now moves to the full House before heading to the Senate, where additional changes are expected.
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is reviewing the Wolf-Livestock Compensation Program and meeting with stakeholders, including California Farm Bureau. Public meetings in wolf-affected counties will begin in May. Ranchers may share feedback with Farm Bureau as potential program changes are considered.
