House Appropriations Holds USDA Oversight Hearing
Published Friday, March 6, 2026
Earlier this week, lawmakers in the House Appropriations Committee held an oversight hearing with Luke Lindberg, U.S. Department of Agriculture undersecretary for trade and foreign agricultural affairs. Of particular focus for some lawmakers were the staffing cuts made last year and how the administration’s trade policies have impacted operations. Lindberg did note that USDA plans to do some restaffing, particularly with the Food for Peace program, which was formerly under the U.S. Agency for International Development and is now moving over to USDA.
