Member Feedback Request: USDA Reorganization Plans
Earlier this month, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced a public comment period for a reorganization plan that would shift some of their responsibilities and work to five key regional hubs in: Raleigh, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Fort Collins and Salt Lake City. As California Farm Bureau puts together feedback on this proposal, we want to again make the offer for members to submit their own feedback on the initiative. Some California lawmakers have questioned why our state is not home to one of these regional hubs given our status as the largest agricultural state. It remains to be seen how long this review and assessment process might be, but with an upcoming Aug. 26 deadline, we encourage members to share their thoughts with Matthew Viohl (mviohl@cfbf.com).
