REPORTABILITY: Director of Memberships and Partnerships

SALARY RANGE: $70,000 to $80,000
SUMMARY:
The Membership Growth and Engagement Regional Manager plays a critical role in strengthening the relationship between the California Farm Bureau and county Farm Bureaus. This position supports membership efforts, provides resources and training to county leaders and staff. The position serves as a key connector, advisor, and advocate for the needs of county Farm Bureaus and members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Membership Growth & Engagement
- Assist counties with strategies for recruiting new members, retaining current members, and increasing active member participation.
- Support counties in promoting and implementing membership campaigns, programs, benefit programs and initiatives.
- Provide training, tools, and resources to enhance local membership engagement efforts.
- Help counties access and utilize membership data, marketing materials, and digital tools effectively.
- Increase membership reach and retention.
County Support & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned county Farm Bureaus.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with county executive directors/managers, staff, boards, and volunteers.
- Gather member input and share it with state staff.
- Facilitate regular communication to understand needs, share best practices, and provide support.
Program and Advocacy Implementation & Coordination
- Promote and assist with state-led programs such as leadership development, young farmers and ranchers, member education, and grassroots advocacy.
- Coordinate local implementation and logistics for workshops, trainings, and events held in collaboration with counties.
Strategic Input and Reporting
- Gather feedback from county leaders to inform state-level strategies and resource development.
- Provide regular updates and reports on county activities, membership trends, and engagement metrics.
- Identify and communicate emerging issues, opportunities, and success stories from the field and report up, out and across to the Farm Bureau organization.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Effective support and increased capacity of county Farm Bureaus to grow and retain membership.
- Timely and constructive communication between counties and the state organization.
- Consistent delivery of accurate and relevant information, tools, and training to county stakeholders.
- High-quality field-level coordination of statewide programs and campaigns.
- Documented tracking of local engagement activities and contribution to statewide strategy.
SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Communications, Business, Political Science, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in member relations, outreach, community organizing, or agricultural advocacy.
- Strong understanding of California agriculture and rural community issues.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and travel frequently throughout California.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM or membership platforms is a plus.
- Knowledge of grassroots organizing and rural leadership development.
- Experience working with a county or state Farm Bureau.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
- Understanding of membership recruitment strategies.

Territory Coverage:
The assigned territory includes Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, Sonoma, Lake, Colusa, Yolo, Napa, Marin, Solano, Contra Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Mateo, and San Francisco counties.
