The California Farm Bureau Farm Dog of the Year contest celebrates farm dogs and the many ways they support farmers and ranchers across California. Farm Bureau members are invited to submit photos and a brief story about their beloved dog.
Applicants who are not Farm Bureau members can visit cfbf.com/join to learn about becoming a member.
Winners receive recognition and a cash prize of $1,000, making it a fun and rewarding opportunity for farm dog enthusiasts to share their love and appreciation for their furry companions.

1st Runner-Up: $500
2nd Runner-Up: $250
3rd Runner-Up: $100

They’re hardworking helpers, tackling the tough tasks that come with life on farms and ranches. They’re also loyal companions, bringing happiness—and often a bit of mischief—to daily rural living.
These are the tail-wagging champions of the California Farm Bureau’s 2025 Farm Dog of the Year contest.
With support from Nationwide and open to Farm Bureau members, the competition invites participants to share photos and answer a few questions about their cherished farm dogs. The top winner received a $1,000 Grand Prize, with additional prizes of $500 for First Place, $250 for Second and $100 for Third.
Willy, a miniature long-haired dachshund from Shasta County, is the 2025 winner of the annual California Farm Bureau Farm Dog of the Year contest.
