California Farm Bureau Delegation Travels to Nation's Capital to Push Agriculture Priorities

Published Friday, September 25, 2026
This week, California Farm Bureau leaders helped guide a team of nearly 20 to the nation’s capital to share priorities and challenges faced by producers in the West. The group, which included county Farm Bureau leaders from across the state, held meetings with Senators Adam Schiff and Alex Padilla, as well as made stops at more than a dozen House offices, the Canadian Embassy, American Farm Bureau Federation, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Senate and House agriculture committee staff, and several coalition partners.
Key topics included the farm bill, economic assistance, workforce challenges, specialty crop priorities, trade and wild animal predation. With the end of the year quickly approaching, participants emphasized the importance of continuing to push forward on a number of these issues, particularly as the “lame duck” period after the midterm elections is likely to be extremely busy in D.C. California Farm Bureau thanks members who were able to join this important trip.
