The U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency [announced](https://www.fsa.usda.gov/news-events/news/09-15-2026/usda-announces-2026-2027-enrollment-key-price-revenue-safety-net) this week the opening of enrollments for the Agricultural Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage programs. Both were recently updated to include more than 30 million new base acres. Producers have until Dec. 11 to make elections and enroll for this year, while the 2027 enrollment period is expected to take place from Nov. 2 through March 15. Both are Farm Bill-supported programs that provide financial assistance to eligible producers when commodity prices or revenues fall below specified levels.
