The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service set a May 29 deadline for the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program, offering landowners another opportunity to secure funding for conservation easements and land protection.
On Wednesday, NRCS announced a second national application deadline of May 29 for the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program.
The program provides financial and technical assistance to landowners, land trusts and other eligible entities to protect and enhance working lands. It supports wetland restoration, helps maintain agricultural viability by limiting nonagricultural uses and conserves grazing lands and their related natural resources. This additional deadline offers applicants another opportunity to access funding and advance conservation efforts on agricultural lands.
