Late last week, the U.S. Department of Agriculture [announced](https://www.usda.gov/about-usda/news/press-releases/2026/04/24/usda-issues-second-supplemental-disaster-payment-farmers-extends-program-application-deadline-august) a second round of payments for the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program and an extension of the application deadline to August 12. SDRP provides financial assistance to producers impacted by natural disasters in 2023 and 2024. Given the second round and ongoing interest, the deadline was moved from April 30 to August 12.
