USDA Launches Product of USA Label Awareness Campaign

As part of National Ag Day, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, in cooperation with several other agencies, announced the launching of a national public awareness campaign around the “Product of USA” voluntary labeling standard. This voluntary labeling standard went into effect on Jan. 1 and is aimed at helping promote U.S.-produced meat, poultry and eggs that are exclusively born, raised, harvested and processed in the U.S.
In the release, Small Business Administration Secretary Kelly Loeffler said, “When we choose to purchase from American producers, we get a superior product while supporting the hardworking family farms who put it all on the line every day to feed, clothe and fuel our nation.” The campaign follows on the administration’s broad efforts to boost U.S. production across industries.
