Farm Bureau Files Opening Brief in PacifiCorp Energy Cost Proceeding
Published Friday, June 26, 2026
California Farm Bureau submitted its opening brief in PacifiCorp’s 2026 Energy Cost Adjustment Clause proceeding before the California Public Utilities Commission. The case involves how certain energy costs are calculated and assigned to PacifiCorp’s California customers. Farm Bureau’s comments focused on transparency and ratepayer protection. Farm Bureau did not oppose PacifiCorp’s proposed approach for this proceeding but urged the commission to ensure that costs assigned to California customers are reasonable, clearly explained and not being recovered from customers in other states. For agricultural customers, the proceedings are important because utility cost allocation decisions can affect the rates paid by farms and ranches. Farm Bureau will continue to participate in proceedings that may impact agricultural electricity costs and affordability.
