President Signs $70 billion Immigration Enforcement Bill
Published Friday, June 12, 2026
President Donald Trump signed into law a bill that will provide up to $70 billion in funding for immigration enforcement and staffing. The House managed to pass the measure in a 214-212 vote earlier in the week after the bill passed in the Senate. It breaks a long deadlock over funding for the Department of Homeland Security and its various subagencies, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and Customs and Border Protection. The agencies are now funded through the end of the 2029 fiscal year.
