Agricultural Communication Plan Incorporated in Approval of PG&E Transmission Line

The California Public Utilities Commission approved Pacific Gas & Electric Co.’s Northern San Joaquin transmission line July 16. California Farm Bureau and San Joaquin County Farm Bureau worked with PG&E on an agricultural communication plan that was adopted as part of the CPUC’s final decision. On July 16, the CPUC approved the Northern San Joaquin transmission line proposed by PG&E. The transmission line approval process at the CPUC is not the most constituent-friendly. There are two aspects to the process: the proceeding at the CPUC that considers the cost of the line and route and the environmental impact report, which is developed under a separate track. California Farm Bureau and San Joaquin County Farm Bureau Federation worked with PG&E to develop a robust agricultural communication plan that was presented in the PG&E testimony as part of the CPUC proceeding. That plan was included and adopted as part of the CPUC decision.
