Last week, USDA [announced](https://www.usda.gov/about-usda/news/press-releases/2026/07/08/usda-celebrates-one-year-anniversary-working-families-tax-cuts-act-delivers-final-farmers-first) enhancements to several disaster and commodity loan programs, which Farm Bureau wanted to highlight for members. This includes improvements to the Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybees and Farm-Raised Fish Program (ELAP), the Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP), the Livestock Indemnity Program (LIP), and the Tree Assistance Program (TAP). A full list of those updates can be found here. Members who have utilized the programs are encouraged to learn more about these changes. In addition, USDA is improving Marketing Assistance Loans for cotton and sugar producers (more can also be found in the link above).
