Published Friday, August 7, 2026
Late last week, the U.S. Department of Agriculture launched the Clingstone Peach Diversion Program to provide financial reimbursements to producers for the voluntary removal of trees. Per the release, “The (program) will reduce the domestic supply of clingstone peaches to better align with market demand for peaches for canning while providing economic relief to peach growers faced with excess production capacity.” The program will allot up to $9 million in relief for eligible farmers. Members are highly encouraged to click above to learn more. The program follows up on significant disruption to clingstone peach growers impacted by the Del Monte Foods plant closures. Applications opened earlier this week and must be received by Sept. 1 to be considered for relief.
