Administration Announces New Grazing MOU to Boost Grazing on Federal Lands

Published Friday, April 3, 2026
The U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of the Interior announced a new memorandum of understanding aimed at improving the federal grazing permitting process.
The agreement focuses on reducing administrative burdens, increasing collaboration with permittees and launching “ranch immersion” programs to give federal employees firsthand experience with ranching operations. The effort is part of the administration’s broader Grazing Action Plan announced last October.
