Wildfire Solutions Coalition Bill on Consent Calendar

Senate Bill 899, authored by state Sen. Shannon Grove, R-Bakersfield, and supported by the Wildfire Solutions Coalition, of which California Farm Bureau is a coalition member, passed from the Senate Environmental Quality Committee on the consent calendar and moves on the Senate Appropriations Committee. The bill is a reintroduction of Farm Bureau’s Senate Bill 945 from 2024 that was held on the Assembly Appropriations Suspense File. The bill differs in that the governor’s Wildfire and Resilience Taskforce would manage the data to connect health outcomes with wildfire fuels mitigation strategies.
