Wildfire Mitigation Streamlining Moves Forward
Published Friday, April 24, 2026
Assembly Bill 2410, authored by Assemblymember Stan Ellis, R-Bakersfield, and supported by California Farm Bureau, passed from the Assembly Committee on Natural Resources. The bill moves to the Assembly Committee on Appropriations. The bill would codify current wildfire mitigation streamlining that is authorized under an expiring Gov. Newsom executive order. The bill keeps intact the executive order’s California Environmental Quality Act permit streamlining to help the state meet its wildfire fuels mitigation goals.
