Assembly Bill 2494 by Assemblymember Chris Rogers, D-Santa Rosa, has been placed on the Assembly Appropriations Suspense File following a fiscal analysis indicating significant state costs.

The California Farm Bureau is coordinating with a growing coalition in opposition and plans to increase engagement if the bill advances to the Assembly floor. Outreach efforts are also underway with Assembly leadership to highlight the breadth of opposition. The California State Association of Counties has joined the coalition, and county Farm Bureaus in regions with demonstration forests have increased local outreach to county supervisors.
