California Farm Bureau Submits Comments Regarding the Continuation of the California Milk Advisory Board
Staff contact: Steven Fenaroli, sfenaroli@cfbf.com
The California Milk Advisory Board is a farmer-funded marketing order and comes under the jurisdiction of the California Department of Food and Agriculture. While a separate organization, CMAB is a subset of the federal dairy marketing order or checkoff program through which 10 cents of the national 15 cents checkoff is authorized for return to California for state-specific promotional activities. As such, CMAB activities come up for mandatory review through CDFA every five years at what is called a “continuation hearing”. Comment (in the form of testimony) and/or written support (in the form of letters) are sought to help support the continuation of the return of the 10 cents to California.
California Farm Bureau submitted comments to CDFA on the continuation of CMAB.
