Californians and all Americans will continue to get the strong, decisive national leadership they need as a result of last night's re-election of President George W. Bush, say California Farm Bureau officials.

The organization is celebrating Bush's re-election, who they say will give farmers and ranchers four more years of policies that will benefit consumers of California grown products throughout the world.

"We are certain that the president will continue to support programs that maintain the farming way of life and the jobs it supports," said Bill Pauli, president of California Farm Bureau Federation.

"President Bush understands that we need his strong leadership on issues that range from trade agreements abroad to tax cuts and incentives for us to continue our stewardship efforts that benefit the environment," he said. "His reelection is integral to the future of farming here in our state and throughout the U.S and that means an abundant, affordable, safe food supply for consumers."

The California Farm Bureau Federation Board of Directors officially endorsed President Bush and Vice President Cheney for re-election.

The California Farm Bureau Federation is the state's largest farm organization, representing more than 89,000 members statewide.
