Farm Bureau endorses Dan Lungren for Congress

A fiscal conservative with a strong pro-business record, Dan Lungren, has been endorsed for re-election to Congress by the California Farm Bureau Federation. Lungren, R-Gold River, seeks re-election in the 3rd Congressional District, which includes Alpine, Amador and Calaveras counties and portions of Sacramento and Solano counties.
“Dan Lungren has built a strong record of service to his district and to California as a whole,” California Farm Bureau President Paul Wenger said. “He understands what his constituents need—and what they don’t need. And right now, they don’t need additional taxes or regulations.”
Wenger said family farmers and ranchers, when asked about their No. 1 challenge, often cite the layers of confusing and sometimes contradictory regulations that they must follow. He said farmers appreciate Lungren’s belief in limited government that lives within its means.
“Dan Lungren knows that increasing taxes will stifle the small businesses that drive the California and United States economy,” Wenger said. “As business owners, family farmers and ranchers support his efforts to reduce government spending and pursue sound fiscal policies.”
The California Farm Bureau Federation works to protect family farms and ranches on behalf of 81,000 members statewide and as part of a nationwide network of more than 6.2 million Farm Bureau members.
