Almonds

How much water does it take to make a serving of almonds?

almonds A) 44.7 gallons
B) 80.2 gallons
C) 118.2 gallons

Almonds grow on tall trees which growers must irrigate for several years before they achieve full production. The trees have long branches but shallow roots. That means they can't reach down deeply into the soil for water, so farmers have to provide water near the surface. How much water might be needed to produce a one-ounce serving of almonds?
