Primary function is to determine and process employee pay, based on wage rate and applicable deductions including, but not limited to, Federal and State taxes, insurance premiums, retirement contributions, and flexible spending elections.
Verify accuracy of timesheet calculations and coding in accordance with state and federal wage and hour law, and consistent with established company policies.
Update employee master payroll records with changes to wage rate and deductions such as insurance premiums, garnishments, and 401(k) contributions and loans.
Enter semi-monthly payroll data into payroll processing system from Excel control sheets, generate system reports for supervisor’s review, and electronically transmit approved payroll.
Calculate and prepare manual paychecks as needed.
Reconcile and maintain payroll-related records for CFBF and two affiliates, including tracking accrued time usage and balances.
Update and maintain various payroll-related schedules and forms.
Prepare government and other filings.
Prepare responses to government agency notices regarding employee tax filings and wages.
Prepare journal entries, as assigned.
Serve as backup for Accounts Payable staff, as needed.
Other tasks as assigned.
Associates Degree in Accounting or related field.
Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Familiarity with state and federal wage and hour law.
Minimum 2-3 years work experience performing basic payroll and accounting functions.
Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Experience working with ADP or equivalent payroll system preferred.
Experience working within Great Plains accounting software or equivalent program preferred.
